-]Biography[-

Genevieve was born the youngest of six.  Most of her early life was spent preparing her to be the wife of an upstanding man that had ties to her mother's family.  Her sisters and brothers had all gone readily into arranged marriages, so she was expected to do the same.

Raised as she was, there wasn't much chance for socializing, outside of the formal events that her parents held, or were invited to.  She was a good daughter, well-behaved and beautiful.  She was not unsatisfied with her life, but she didn't really know much about playing, having fun, or anything common to lower class children.

Occasionally, her parents would take her and her siblings to the land to do business with the humans.  It was more political involvement over fishing rights in parts of the Mediterranean sea that her parents had claim on.  During one of these trips, she met a young human around her age.  He was a go-between for the humans, and they began to steal time together.  They continued to see each other for several months, and he asked her to marry him.  She agreed, impulsively, not thinking that she had already likely had an arranged marriage waiting for her when she was old enough.  She told him when her parents would be away so that she could get out of the house without much interference.  When it came time for her to meet him in a remote location at night, he was nowhere to be seen.  She waited for hours where she was supposed to, but he never came.  While she was waiting, the young man was clearing out her parents' land house with several of his friends.

She continued to wait, even long after they were finished, but was attacked later in the night by a weak wolf who had not known how to control their shifting.  The lycan had shifted when he got stressed and went hunting.  Upon seeing the wolf, she became scared, making her more appealing as prey. During the attack, she worried about where the young man might be, afraid for his safety.  The worry for him was enough to trigger her remote viewing for the first time.  She could see him, with his friends, with her parents things.  He didn't look like he was in any rush to go see her.

Through similar power, her older brother (the only other sibling with remote viewing), found her while she was being attacked.  He had gone to the empty house, found all of the valuables taken, and went to search for his missing sister.  He killed the werewolf, and returned Genevieve home.  When they returned home, her parents had returned and were furious about the loss of their possessions, and the attempted escape their daughter had almost pulled.  She couldn't believe what she had seen, though when she recapped the situation to her brother, he explained the ability, and told her that what she saw was likely true.  He intended to teach her how to control, or at least hold back, the remote viewing.

However, her arranged marriage was moved almost immediately, so that she didn't get any other ideas of eloping in her head.  Unfortunately, she had one more idea to run.  After meeting the man who she was going to marry, a vampire who viewed her as a trophy, she decided that she couldn't go through with it.  She took a portion of her dowry and ran...well, swam.  In order to get away from them, she knew that she would have to go further than anywhere in Europe.  If she stayed anywhere there, she likely would have been found.  So, she swam to America.  It took her several days of almost constant swimming to get there.  When she got close, she ended up passing out from exhaustion and washing up on the bank of Assateague Island, just off of Virginia and Maryland.

This looks good to me.

It's not stated anywhere (I don't think?) but she's a born mer, right?

It's what I figured and I know it's kind of an anal question, just wanted to make sure I was correct.
